Hamburger Helper
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 12 oz macaroni
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups milk
- 8 oz cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 tbsp parsley, chopped
Directions
- Heat oil in large skillet over medium high heat.
- Sauté onions until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Add ground beef and brown, about 3 minutes.
- Add cornstarch, oregano, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and chili powder and mix well.
- Add broth, milk, and macaroni.
- Stir and bring to a simmer.
- Cook for 10 minutes, until macaroni is cooked al dente.
- Stir in half of the cheese.
- Top with remaining cheese.
- Cover with lid until the cheese melts.
- Garnish with parsley and serve.
Way better than the boxed stuff and just as quick.
