Swedish Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 5 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard

Directions

  1. Mix ground beef, panko, parsley, allspice, nutmeg, onion, garlic powder, pepper, salt, and egg in medium bowl.
  2. Roll into 20 small meatballs.
  3. Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add meatballs and cook, turning continuously until cooked through.
  5. Remove meatballs to plate and cover.
  6. Add 4 tbsp butter and flour to skillet and whisk until it browns.
  7. Slowly whisk in beef broth and heavy cream.
  8. Whisk in worcestershire sauce and dijon mustard.
  9. Bring to simmer and simmer until sauce thickens.
  10. Return meatballs to skillet and simmer for another 2 minutes.

Serve over your favorite starch (egg noodles, rice, potatoes, etc.)
