Swedish Meatballs
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1 tbsp parsley, chopped
- 1/4 tsp ground allspice
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 5 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dijon mustard
Directions
- Mix ground beef, panko, parsley, allspice, nutmeg, onion, garlic powder, pepper, salt, and egg in medium bowl.
- Roll into 20 small meatballs.
- Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in large skillet over medium heat.
- Add meatballs and cook, turning continuously until cooked through.
- Remove meatballs to plate and cover.
- Add 4 tbsp butter and flour to skillet and whisk until it browns.
- Slowly whisk in beef broth and heavy cream.
- Whisk in worcestershire sauce and dijon mustard.
- Bring to simmer and simmer until sauce thickens.
- Return meatballs to skillet and simmer for another 2 minutes.
Serve over your favorite starch (egg noodles, rice, potatoes, etc.)
