One of those kind of complaining posts
If you live in the north at all you probably hear the following phrase at least 3 times a day: “I am so ready for winter to be over.” Well guess what, me too! Today marked the third fall since January, and it was a doosy. I was walking on the sidewalks at one of the places I work and one of my co-workers said, “be careful, don’t fall.” To which I respond, “I won’t” and proceed to walk like a 125 year old lady only to have my feet swiped out from under me seconds latter and find myself soaking in a lovely mixture of mud, water and other random earthly paraphernalia. Yep, that’s right, I fall into a huge “winter is ending” puddle and soak myself from elbow to shine in the lovely concoction.
Upon returning to my feet (with very few bad words said mind you) I notice not only am I soaked but my elbow, my leg and my hip hurt…UGG! **Insert ‘I am ready for winter to be over’ here!** As far as I can tell things will be ok, I just have a lot of bumps and bruises and a soar back.
The best part of today though? I found out that we are supposed to get another storm this weekend that will bring “measurable amounts of snow and rain with substantial moisture.” For those of you who don’t know Fargo is already facing a record flood year, this will only had to the insanity that is to soon come.
Ok, enough of my rant, some truly good things did come out of today:
1. I made a pretty good casserole for supper
-
I got to talk to my mom for a good amount of time.
-
Zach took my out for ice cream tonight without me saying anything about it.
So as you can see life isn’t really that bad, but it is moments like when I was laying the the puddle that made me realize why fall is still my favorite season!
