Aug 1st (on the 11th)
Sorry for the long wait. The site was down for a while and I had to file a ticket with tech support (aka Zach). All is fixed and here is my post I wrote on the first:
August 1…all I can say is wow! Before I recap what has happened in our lives for the last several weeks, let me add to Zach’s post below. One key point he forgot to put in his story was that he took the car (not a big deal), the garage key and door opener (usually not a big deal as that is the car’s home)…and the pickup keys. Normally, if this happened I would have said, “whelp, not going anywhere today†and would have chilled out in our apartment for all day. But this particular day happened to fall on the same day I had fasted so I could do my 3 hour glucose test. So here I sit, a hungry, fasting pregnant women who needed to be at the clinic and drink nasty orange drink stuff and had no way to get there…not even a bike. Luckily, our good friend came to the rescue (he picked up this grumpy pregnant women from the bus stop) and took me to the clinic. To get home I took the bus, which wasn’t horrible, it had AC and I got to read for an hour.
This brings me to present day…AC. Mother Nature sure picked a bad summer (in my mind) to be hot and stormy. Normally, I complain about the heat and refuse to turn the AC on because of the cost, but this summer it is almost always cranked when we are home. Unfortunately, we don’t have AC in our room so we enjoy the cool air in the living room and then I sleep with a fan pointed right at me (super nice Zach doesn't even complain that he doesn't get any of the benefits of this fan…what a guy!) The storms this summer have been crazy and to top it off the window in our living room leaks pours water when it is raining outside, but that is another story for another time.
Outside of storms and AC our life has been fairly normal despite my ever growing belly. People keep telling me, “Oh, you don’t look pregnant at all!†And while to most people this may be a great compliment it just makes me feel fatter. I look at myself in the mirror and see this huge belly and think…HOW THE HECK do people not think I look pregnant!
In other baby news, our baby is cooking along nicely and has decided that it may stop growing so fast (good news!) The doctor still thinks that we will have another ultrasound to check the size in about a month or so, but hey this is just another excuse for more baby pictures!
Work is…well work. My boss recently got another position in the company and while I did apply for the position I was not the selected candidate. While this is a bummer I am hopeful that my new boss will do a great job in the position.
Until next time, Amelia and Baby Doll signing off!
