Reverb13 Post 1
I have decided that I am going to try and do Reverb13 this year as a way to hopefully get back into blogging. With the baby coming this month (in no more that 17 days) I know I am bound to be posting videos and pictures of the newest addition to our family. I figured #reverb13 would give me the opportunity to actually write and hopefully get me back into the routing.
The way it works is simple, each day I will receive a prompt from Reverb and then I write. I have never done this before but have a few friends who have, so how hard can it be… right?
Today’s prompt is: At the start: Where did you start 2013? Give us some background on this year.
I started 2013 in Bismarck, working the same job I currently have living with my husband and my son (then just over 1). A lot has changed since the start of the year. Here are a few highlights:
- We decided to expand our family and are expecting our next little Doll in a few short days. This pregnancy couldn’t have been more different than William’s. I have been sick all pregnancy were as with William I was hardly sick at all. We have also had some health concerns with the baby, most of which have been resolved or at the very least lessened. Because of William being a preemie and the fact he came so fast the doctors had me taking progesterone to make it to 36 weeks (which we celebrated last Wed!) This was all fine and great until I had an allergic reaction to the shot and then had to finish was on a daily pill. Overall, we are still very blessed to be able to expand out family and are looking forward to the bundle of joy.
- William has really developed a personality. He had a bit of a personality at the beginning of this year add in talking and some…interesting facial expressions and man is he a little man! He loves to talk…and talk…and talk. He has also started the “terrible twos” which is interesting.
- William is potty trained :). Everyone thought I was crazy trying to potty train him so early but he wanted to and so we didn’t resist and VOILA!
- Zach and I have started a weekly game night at the local game store. We have friends that come over almost every weekend for dinner and games. They also have a two year old so you can imagine how much gaming we actually get done! We decided that we wanted to meet new people who like to play games. So far we have had a few people join us but it has been nice to have the time to get away just the two of us.
- We have a home theatre. Zach worked really hard this past year and built us our very own theatre in our party room downstairs. It is pretty awesome!
- Our “renter” moved out and we have our whole house. Our friend who was living in the basement until he found a place of his own got a big boy job and apartment.
- We put new flooring in in the kitchen and bedroom downstairs…and never again will we doing flooring ourselves! It was defiantly a test in our marriage and communication!
Overall I would say that we have continued to be blessed in the year of 2013. I look forward to what lies ahead of us on this journey we call life!
