So I did not complete the whole project Reverb 13, got a little busy having a baby and such, but the team has decided to release one new prompt a month to keep the momentum going for the next December. Here is this month’s prompt:

Routine | Have you started a new routine this January?  Is this routine different from last year?  Is it the result of a resolution or goal you’re working on?  Tell us about your days.  How do they flow?  If you’d like, maybe give us a full “day in the life” or just some snippets.

When you are on maternity leave, routine is hardly a word that comes to mind. Lately my days have consisted of this; wake up (around 10/11), feed Owen, cuddle Owen, pray that he will stay asleep long enough for you to eat lunch, eat lunch, feed Owen, cuddle Owen, do something little (update the blog, do the dishes, take a shower), feed Owen while watching Ellen (one of the best things besides the new baby about being on maternity leave), think about making dinner, cuddle Owen, wait for Zach and William to come home, have William help with supper, have supper (usually cold because….feed Owen), hang out with my boys, read stories with William in “mommy’s bed,” feed Owen, watch TV with Zach (and usually fall asleep).

And for now, I am A-OK with that!

Hardly a routine but it is what we do almost on a daily basis (I guess some would argue that makes it routine). At any rate it will be interesting to go back to work in a little over a month, not only will I have to get up and get ready in the morning but my daily routine will include pumping every 2 hours…guess I better find a good book to read!
