Vacation Day 3
We started the morning a lot earlier that yesterday. We grabbed all you could eat pancakes at the prospector's tent and headed back to mount Rushmore. We hiked the presidential trail. It was a nice little hike and we got there before it was too crowded. It was nice.
Once we got back to camp the boys and Unpacked up camp while Zach showered. When he was done we tag teamed and i showered and they went to the fun zone to play. We got in a round of mini golf before bidding hill city fair well. Owen fell asleep almost right after we left and slept until lunch.
We stopped for lunch in new Castle WY at a little dinner. Shortly after leaving Owen fell back asleep and ending up sleeping until the dam (over 2 hours). We then followed Google's directions to what we thought was going to be our camping spot. I made a quick detour for a route 44 cherry limeade and started driving.
The directions google gave us took us on an interesting backwood adventure through BLM land. It was touch and go for a bit and at one point I was the only one awake in the car. When we got to were we were suppose to turn it said the road was closed. But there was a cool dam so we stopped for a quick potty break and some pictures. We ran into some people from Cooperstown, ND who were visiting people from Casper. The gentleman from Casper helped us get straightened out and away we went again. When we got to the campground they made it very clear you needed a reservation but the only way to make a reservation was to call, go to a website, or download an app. We had no service of any kind. We decided to continue down the road to see what we could find. We found Dugout BLM land and a spot that we figured would work. It is a bit windy but the tent is cozy. We had a picnic lunch in the tent and many laughs. It was once again conformed, farts are funny.
